How do you get the newest Wurm Online client to work in Linux?

It might have worked the first time running it, but now it gets that every time. I’m using X, not Wayland. I’ve deleted the launcher folder and reinstalled the launcher.
The only thing left to try, is renaming the config file and seeing if a setting causes it to get the above error. Not sure that would affect the launcher though.
Maybe they don’t intend on fixing it. Works for some people, after redownloading. Not for me. Even just deleting the jcef-natives folder and redownloading that doesn’t fix it.
I can’t use the recipe crafting thing either, instant crash.
I don’t want to post on their forum.
The macOS version runs worse on my Apple Silicon Mac mini, and the resolution is screwed up.
Nope renaming the config file does nothing, still crashes.
Good news, I fixed it.
Delete the jcef-natives folder, then cd to the launcher folder, and run WurmLauncher. It tries to chmod files, but not the full path, so it can’t find the files.
cd /media/fast_games/wurm-launcher
rm -fr jcef-natives
./WurmLauncher
I actually deleted the folder with Dolphin, cause I’m lazy. No idea if you have to launch it always in the same folder. I’ll try launching from Lutris and see what happens.
Well, Lutris has a default working directory of where the executable is. I didn’t try opening the launcher with my script, which is just the full path to the launcher with “-c”.
Nice, now it looks like it does in macOS, the user interface, might not be exactly nice, because it’s easier to get to some stuff in the old client.
Now I don’t need a native Apple Silicon version of the game.
The water might look different, I think they changed it for Halloween. Saw somebody mention it in the chat, but the old client doesn’t show the changed color.
Still has massive FPS drops.
Sweet, crafting recipes doesn’t crash it anymore either.
Nice, there’s even a built in browser for their Wiki.
