I forgot everything about her Wii U that I hacked. She’ll have to reinstall all games, as I formatted the drive. I’m to lazy to look for Windows software to recover it. TestDisk might work in Linux. Don’t know what software you’d use on a Mac either. Maybe a live Linux flash drive.

You can’t download a Wii demo, and play it in Wii U mode. Only if you get the eShop demo.

I might of figured out that was the software I used for my original Wii, if I actually read it, it’s not “Wii U Backup Manager”, remove the U.

If you hack the vWii mode, you can do what I do with my Wii. You need another hard drive though.

I must of used that program when I still was using Windows, or a Windows VM.

There is multiplatform backup managers, there’s a shitty Java one. Shitty because it uses Java.

Sounds like the Windows software works in Wine. Except, the drive might be the WBFS or whatever format. Can Wine access /dev/ drives? Or just mounted drives?

Use wfuse, and then use the Windows program. Or find the Java GUI, that I saw on my phone. Probably need to search for macOS instead of Linux, like I did earlier. The GUIs are listed on the same link. QT should work in Linux.

Ha, the drive is formatted as FAT32. I can’t remember anything. Does that only work with WBFS? Probably. Found the Java GUI. Java GUI doesn’t work. Even after fixing the permissions on the included Wit.

If you block ad crap, you have to find a different link to download Wii Backup Manager. I’m to lazy to temporally disable my Pi-hole.

And it works with Wine. Doesn’t work very well, go to a different window, and you can no longer do anything.

Might be malware, how did they get version 79? The latest is 78. Downloaded from their site, disabled Pi-hole for 30 seconds. Still downloading, slow.

Does the same thing, still can’t use it after going to a different window and back. Testing a different Wine version. Nope, doesn’t work in Wine.

That sucks, I have to manually manage my games. Hopefully all the demos have the fancy characters in the filename, not in English. A bunch of letters and possibly letters.

I’m not manually doing it, look at the config file, I’m not searching the internet for all that crap.
