Is Animal Crossing like The Sims?

The new one for the Switch? If there’s no option to speed up time, it’ll just piss me off. It takes Sims hours to eat.

I’m too lazy to install it and find out. Playing on the TV would be better. But if you can’t speed up time, it won’t be better. I’ll be bored out of my mind.
