Windows 10 missing winre.wim

If you don't have media with the install.wim file. You can extract the winre.wim from the install.esd file.

To get the wim from the install.esd follow the instructions here.

Then follow this to specify the location of it, after copying the file to the Recovery folder in the system32 folder. Just skip all the stuff about install.wim.

If you are using an earlier version of Windows, you can't get the wim file from the esd file.
