OpenVPN is slow
Looks like my Banana Pi R1 can’t give me 20 Mbps if I use OpenVPN. I should try it in Ubuntu, then I’d know if it’s OpenVPN, or the router. I like the clear case though, I can see the board. I should order another case, so I can replace the broken parts. But I’m cheap.
Probably need to spend at least two hundred bucks if you want to use a VPN with your full internet speed, unless your internet is faster then 20 Mbps, then you’ll be paying 400+.
I’ll try a different server, maybe that’ll make a difference. I did try TCP instead of UDP, didn’t make it faster.
It’s the router, I get almost 20 Mbps in Ubuntu.
According to this, a dual core router should be able to get 20 Mbps.
According to “cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq”, it’s 0.96 GHz. So I don’t know why OpenVPN doesn’t give me 20 Mbps. To cheap to try a different provider.
Maybe it’s an OpenWrt problem. Could try something else on it, but I don’t have anymore micro SD cards.
